Vivint's Security Systems Are Pricey And Have Confusing Contracts

I was looking at Vivint's security systems on May 8th, thinking it would be a good fit for my house. But then the price they offered me was way beyond what I had in mind, their stuff starts at nearly $600 for the equipment alone. Don't get me wrong, I want good quality, but that's a lot of money upfront, especially for someone like me on a budget, they offer financing for like 5 years, but apparently not everyone qualifies. And even if you do, that's a long time to be locked in! On May 10th, when I actually signed up, I realized I couldn't just buy the equipment outright – it's all tied to these long contracts. The whole thing was a little complicated, I hope someone can offer me more before I find another.
