Virgin Australia Denied Boarding - Early Gate Closure
I got to the airport on January 14, 2026, and made it to the gate on time, but I was not allowed to board since the gate had closed too soon. A staff member told me they weren't taking any more passengers, even though I hadn't missed the boarding window. After that, I was told that my checked baggage had already been taken from the flight and that I needed to handle the problem myself over the phone. Because of this, I had to schedule a later Virgin Australia flight and pay an extra $550. To make matters worse, I was told that I couldn't get my money back for the original ticket since it was marked as a no-show. This is entirely false and unacceptable.
