VFS Global Refuses to Reschedule My Visa Appointment Despite Payment
On April 10, 2026, I scheduled an appointment through VFS Global Ankara for a Netherlands short-term business visa application for June 10, 2026, and paid approximately $45 for this service. Just two days after booking, it became certain that I would be assigned to work during those dates due to a job-related obligation.
As soon as I realized this, I immediately contacted VFS Global without delay. Their phone system clearly explains how to change the appointment date, but in practice, it is not possible to follow those instructions because the system does not allow it. Despite sending multiple emails, I did not receive any response for about 20 days.
After a long wait, the only reply I received was that appointment dates cannot be changed. This is not accurate, as this is not my first visa application—I was able to change my appointment dates myself through the system in previous applications last year. Therefore, the claim that “changes are not possible” does not reflect the actual situation.
Additionally, I have not yet received the service, and due to a mandatory work assignment beyond my control, it is not possible for me to attend the appointment on the scheduled date. Despite this, I am being forced to lose the fee I paid, which clearly puts the consumer at a disadvantage.
Given that this situation is caused by unavoidable work obligations and inconsistencies within their own system, I do not find it fair that my payment is effectively forfeited even though I cannot receive the service. I have already filed a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Committee and am prepared to take legal action if necessary.
My request is not to cancel my Netherlands short-term business visa appointment, but simply to reschedule it to a later date, and for the system and administrative barriers preventing this change to be removed.
I wanted to postpone my short-term business visa appointment for the Netherlands on June 10, 2026, due to work reasons, but the system and VFS Global did not allow the change that is normally possible.
