UPS Won't Deliver To My Address And Won't Let Me Reroute Deliveries
I live in Idyllwild, California and UPS will not deliver to my physical address. Every shipment sent to my address is automatically returned to the sender, which means I effectively cannot receive any packages from UPS at all. When I order items online, I often have no way of knowing which carrier will be used, and many sellers only ship with a single carrier, so this situation is creating serious ongoing problems for me. To work around this, I purchased a UPS My Choice Premium plan for $15 so that I could divert packages to a local pickup location instead of home delivery. However, to activate and fully use this service, UPS requires that my address be validated with a PIN that is only sent via USPS to my physical address. The issue is that USPS does not deliver in my town and everyone here must pick up their mail at the post office using a PO box, so I cannot receive this PIN at the physical address UPS insists on using. I have spent nearly six hours on the phone with various UPS customer service representatives explaining that USPS does not deliver to my physical address and asking for another way to verify my address or manually validate my My Choice account. Despite this, I have been repeatedly told that the only available method is the USPS-mailed PIN, which is not workable in my situation. As a result, I am stuck in a loop where I cannot get deliveries to my address, cannot validate my account, and therefore cannot use the Premium service I paid for to redirect my packages. I request that UPS provide an alternative method to validate my address, such as verification via phone, email, documentation of residence, or through my PO box, and ensure that my address is properly recognized for deliveries or for pickup redirection in Idyllwild. I also ask that my paid My Choice Premium plan be fully usable under these corrected address settings, or that UPS offer an appropriate remedy if this cannot be done.
