UPS Did Not Honor Scheduled Pickup Time for Return Package
On March 12, 2026, I requested a courier pickup through UPS Turkey for a return shipment of a Camper brand item. Since there are no UPS branches near my location in İzmir, I specifically chose the courier service and selected a pickup time through the online form. However, despite choosing a specific time slot, no courier arrived at my address during the selected time.
When I followed up through the virtual assistant and later with customer service, I was told that even though a time selection is made in the form, the courier may arrive at any time during the day, and that I would need to wait at the address all day. Every time I called, I was given the same scripted response: “Unless there are exceptional circumstances, your shipment will be picked up between 9:00 AM and 6:30 PM.” No alternative solution or customer-focused approach was offered. Additionally, all the branches they mentioned are at least an hour away from my location by car.
The fact that a time selection is offered in the form but has no real meaning in practice, combined with the lack of even a reasonable estimated time window shared via SMS or any digital notification, has caused serious dissatisfaction. For my shipment with reference number 7811002, I request either a courier service that truly honors scheduled pickup times or, if such a service is not actually provided, that the form and related information be updated to avoid misleading customers.
