Turkish Airlines Ticket Payment Issue

Hello, I entered my spouse's name incorrectly as S*** when purchasing a ticket from Turkish Airlines. Despite the surname and ID number being correct and explaining the situation to the ticket service employees at the airport, they made us buy a new ticket. If the ID number is required for international departures, why does their system accept it when the name doesn't match? Are we entering our ID numbers just for the sake of it? Even though we paid ₺21,000 for round-trip tickets for three people, they charged us ₺20,000 for a single person's round-trip ticket just because we wrote S*** instead of S***. So far, we haven't been able to reach anyone regarding a refund or replacement ticket. Is this how the renowned Turkish Airlines operates? Instead of helping, they make things difficult for the customer like poor-quality companies.

The huge Turkish Airlines didn't even bother to respond, I can't find anything to say.
