Turkish Airlines Refund Issue for International Flight
I noticed on the THY mobile services that the ski fee for international flights was €50 per ticket, but on their website, it mentioned in a small note that we had a free allowance for international flights. When I called customer service to confirm, they told me that we indeed had this right, but it was written differently on the mobile app. Based on this, I assumed I could use my free allowance and purchased the ticket. A few days later, when I called again, they said the rule had changed and my right was revoked. After numerous complaints and feedback, they told me to make the payment and promised a refund. Trusting them, I made the payment. My return flight was canceled after a four-hour delay. The next 24 hours were a complete ordeal. They tried to shuttle a plane full of people to a hotel with just one car, which took hours. When I requested a refund, I received a refund for one ticket but not for my return flight, which was canceled. Despite multiple complaints, no one has called me back. Should I be upset that a major airline like THY misleads its customers via the mobile app, prevents them from using their rights, or the attitude I faced while trying to use my earned rights, or the fact that despite having a verbal promise of a refund, I still haven't received my payment two months later? THY is no different from other airlines; everyone seems to be in the business of deceiving their passengers. It's a shame.
