Turkish Airlines Required Additional Fee Citing Ticket Policy Change
On 05.11.2023, I purchased tickets for three people to Milan from the THY website because it stated that ski equipment could be transported for free on international flights. I even called customer relations to register our ski equipment for both departure and return. My flight is in two days, on 27.01.2024. Today, when I checked the website, I found out that the policy had changed. When I bought the tickets, it was free, which is why I chose THY. I told them they can't change the rules at the last minute and charge me an additional ₺10,000. Ms. B**** from customer relations was very cold and disrespectful, saying, 'This is our policy, there's nothing we can do for you,' and ended the conversation. If I had known about this policy when purchasing the ticket, I wouldn't have bought it. If you are buying a ticket from THY, be prepared for surprise costs.
