Turkish Airlines Flight with Non-Functional Air Conditioning Left Me Waiting for 3 Hours
Trapped on a Turkish Airlines flight from JFK to Istanbul with delays and non-functional air conditioning;
On August 12, 2023, the TK002 flight, originally scheduled to depart at 7:30 PM, was delayed by 30 minutes and then planned to depart at 8 PM. However, we were boarded just before 8:30 PM and left waiting inside the plane without air conditioning until 10:10 PM. There was no reasonable announcement or explanation provided, and passengers were not even instructed to 'sit down and fasten your seatbelts' until the plane started moving. The process management and understanding were severely lacking. Although it was not the responsibility of the onboard staff, the reputation of the airline, which is seen as one of the most valuable brands in the country, was significantly tarnished in the eyes of foreign passengers seated behind me from Montenegro and Pakistan. We endured the smell of breath and food brought by passengers for 3 hours, and we were drenched in sweat without any explanation. Unfortunately, the airline doesn't even have a complaint section on their smart assistant or phone lines. At 10:19 PM, the plane was still taxiing around the airport as if to deceive children. I hope the plane reaches the runway so we can finally take off. I will also file a complaint at their office as soon as we land.
