On January 16, 2024, while boarding the TK2023 flight from Istanbul Airport to Konya with THY, I was informed by the staff that my pre-selected seat 3A (alpha) had been changed to 34A (alpha). When I inquired about the reason, I was told that the first two rows had been vacated and, as seen on the seating screen, these rows were empty. I understood this might be due to VIP and CIP passengers being moved for 'aircraft balance'. However, upon boarding from the rear door (row 34), I asked cabin crew member Ms. M***** if the first two rows were occupied; she kindly informed me that they were full and that seat 3A (alpha) was vacant and could move me there. It became clear that three other passengers seated near me had also been moved from these rows to the back. Sitting at the front or back of the plane does not provide me any 'privilege' since we land at the same airport. I chose that seat to disembark quickly in case of a jet bridge, even though I anticipated there wouldn't be one at my destination. However, if this flight were to a jet-bridged airport and I had a possible connecting flight (with a different airline), this situation could have been significant. It is unbecoming for a company that invests so much in this sector to behave this way. As compensation for this inconvenience, I expect an apology and request priority seating in the front rows for my next flight. Seat 3A (alpha) was automatically assigned to me by the system. No additional fee was charged. If there had been a fee, I could have easily covered it with my miles. I am attaching the boarding pass for reference. They have evaluated the grievance I experienced according to my request and have shown the necessary grace and courtesy to address it. I am very thankful to them. At the very least, in such situations, it is also our duty to contribute modestly with mutual goodwill to elevate the brand to better places. I also thank the complaint team very much, bless them 🙏💜🧿
