I chose Turkish Airlines, a trusted brand from my country, for my journey from Malta to Oslo as a transfer passenger, expecting reliable service. The issues began with my flight from Malta, which was delayed three times. I accepted this and continued the journey to Istanbul. After a 7-hour layover, I was ready to board my flight to Oslo at the gate, but the boarding staff told me I couldn't board the plane. I contacted customer service, requesting a resolution, and was told to wait for a response within 2 hours. However, I ended up waiting 14 hours with no response, despite repeatedly contacting them and emphasizing the urgency of my situation.
With no assistance offered, I lost my tickets, and due to fully booked flights to my hometown, I had to fly to another city to stay with a friend. I was promised that my luggage would be shipped directly to my home, which was confirmed twice. However, upon landing in Antalya, I was told, "You were supposed to pick up your luggage; we only bring it to Antalya." After 2 days of waiting and numerous calls, I finally received a response, but the damage was done. During this ordeal, I was not adequately accommodated in Istanbul, spending hours waiting on a chair. I struggled to reach my hometown, and my luggage arrived with damages.
Is this how Turkish Airlines manages such situations? The lack of support and the series of disappointments have shattered my trust in this airline, not just for myself but for those around me as well. Despite my continuous efforts to resolve the matter directly with Turkish Airlines, they failed to offer proper compensation or address my multiple grievances. I am reaching out through this platform to express my frustration and hope for a proper resolution from Turkish Airlines.
