My name is A****. On August 12, 2023, at 10:10 AM, I had four tickets for the Istanbul-Gaziantep flight, but I was not allowed to board.
My family and I were at Istanbul Airport at 09:09 AM, completed the baggage checks, and while entering all the information at the kiosk machine (at 09:21 AM), I wanted to consult your staff. To avoid making a mistake, the THY staff told me that 'since you have baggage, you must definitely deliver it before checking in,' so I left the process halfway and got in line.
After waiting in line for a while, I saw that there was no line in another block, so I left. The THY employee in the other section told me, 'First, you need to check in, then you can deliver your baggage.' While entering my information at the kiosk machine, I was transferred to section D44 because it was within the last 45 minutes, and they told me that they could not take me on the plane 35 minutes before the flight.
The problem is that if the THY staff had not misled me, I would have been able to board the plane. My family's and my tickets were wasted. I paid ₺950 for round-trip taxi fares to the airport, and our vacation was ruined. I had previously created a record, but the camera footage was not even reviewed. If they check, they will see my conversation with the employees.
I want my ticket fee to be compensated. Here, it is not my fault; I trusted the THY employee and acted accordingly, and I was found at fault. I will apply to the necessary authorities until a solution is found. My transaction history is visible on the kiosk machine. I request a refund. A**** D****.
