I am the owner of a Toyota Yaris Cross 1.5 Hybrid Passion X-Pack e-CVT, which I purchased on July 1, 2024, from Toyota Elpa Otomotiv Elazığ. During the purchase, the sales consultant clearly stated that the vehicle included a Collision Avoidance System. However, once I began using the car, I noticed that this key safety feature was not active or available.
I immediately contacted Elpa Otomotiv for support. The vehicle was tested multiple times, but they were unable to confirm that the feature was present or functioning. I was told that a team from Toyota headquarters would visit Elazığ to investigate further. Months passed—no one came, no updates were provided.
I then contacted Toyota Turkey’s main customer service. They initially told me, based on Elpa’s claims, that the system was indeed active in my car. This forced me to return to the Elpa service center for the seventh time, repeating the same tests again. Eventually—after nearly 10 months of back and forth, Elpa and Toyota Turkey finally acknowledged that the feature does not exist in my vehicle, despite earlier denials.
Throughout this ordeal, both Elpa and Toyota Turkey repeatedly insisted that the feature was present, and yet no roadmap or concrete resolution was ever provided. The contradiction between what was promised and what was delivered is unacceptable. The company's failure to fulfill its commitments, coupled with the indifference of their staff, has severely damaged my trust in Toyota.
I am a 66-year-old Toyota enthusiast living in Tunceli, and over the past 10 months I’ve had to travel repeatedly between Tunceli and Elazığ in pursuit of a resolution. The lack of empathy and support from such an established brand has been profoundly disheartening.
Most importantly, the absence of this promised safety system poses a serious risk to my life and others on the road. Should any incident occur due to this missing feature, I will hold Toyota fully liable. I am demanding either an immediate resolution or a replacement vehicle that includes the promised system.
