Swarovski Store Staff Were Rude During My Shopping Experience
On August 5, 2026, at approximately 8:46 PM, I visited the Swarovski store at İzmir Mavibahçe Mall to purchase a pair of earrings as a gift for a friend. Earlier that day, I had called the store to ask whether the earrings I wanted were in stock, and I was told, “We have several in stock. There’s no need to reserve them.” Relying on this information, I went to the store that evening.
When I arrived, I explained to the sales associate that I had called earlier in the day and wanted to purchase the earrings I had inquired about. Since I did not have my phone with me, I could not show a photo, so I carefully described the earrings, explaining that they were stud earrings with stones and providing as many details as I could. Despite this, the employee responded in a dismissive and discourteous manner, saying, “There are earrings everywhere.” Even after I continued describing the item, I received another indifferent response along the lines of, “Those are everywhere too.” In the end, I located the earrings myself in the store, quickly completed the purchase, and left.
The same careless attitude continued during the gift-wrapping process. If I had not been purchasing the earrings as an engagement gift for my friend, I would not have wanted to spend another moment dealing with such an unprofessional and uninterested employee. I believe the store’s security camera footage would clearly show the employee’s tone of voice and behavior during my visit.
I expect Swarovski to provide the employee with appropriate training and guidance on respectful customer communication, empathy, and basic product knowledge. I also ask that this matter be taken seriously to ensure that other customers do not experience similar treatment in the future.
