Booking.com Appears to Allow Payment Scam for Appartements Louvre Monthpensier
On April 20, 2026, I booked a stay at Appartements Louvre Monthpensier for 4 adults and 3 children via Booking.com for July 23–25 (Confirmation Number: 6199251602, PIN: 4745). When my initial card payment failed on the platform, the property sent an official message through Booking.com's messaging portal containing a payment link (buy.stripe.com). Using that provided link, I paid the full amount of 56,527 TRY.
Although the reservation status initially displayed "confirmation pending," the property explicitly reassured me via message that this status was a formality and my booking was confirmed. Relying on this assurance, I finalized my travel arrangements. However, the system now lists my reservation as completely canceled. For two consecutive days, both Appartements Louvre Monthpensier and Booking.com customer support have ignored my inquiries, leaving me without accommodation or recourse despite having paid over 56,500 TRY.
Processing payments outside standard checkout via direct Stripe links embedded in platform communications—followed by sudden cancellations and support silence—indicates severe operational failure or fraudulent activity. I demand that Booking.com immediately investigate this merchant, reinstate my booking under the agreed conditions, or issue a full refund of 56,527 TRY without delay.
