I rented a car from Sixt Rent a Car abroad and left a €500 deposit as required. At the time of return, I was told that the full deposit would be refunded to my account. However, without any prior notice or consent, Sixt later withheld €90, claiming it was a deduction for insurance.
The problem is, I never requested any insurance, and everything in the agreement was already clearly outlined and paid for. There was no mention of an additional insurance charge in the signed rental contract. This charge feels both unauthorized and misleading.
Sixt, I demand a full explanation and a refund of the €90 that was wrongfully taken from my deposit. Travelers should not have to deal with surprise deductions after trusting your service. I expect immediate action and transparency to resolve this issue.
