Singapore Airlines Urged to Launch Formal Probe Into Cabin Theft
On November 21, 2025, while traveling on Singapore Airlines flight SQ392 from Singapore to Istanbul and seated in seat 53A, I noticed that my brand-new iPhone 17 Pro Max Silver 512 GB and my brand-new iPad Wi-Fi 128 GB Silver were missing from my backpack, which I had placed in the overhead bin. I realized this approximately five minutes after the aircraft landed at Istanbul Airport, once the doors were opened and passengers had begun to disembark. As soon as I noticed the incident, I immediately informed the cabin crew. I told them that another passenger had witnessed the incident and stated that the person who interfered with my bag was seated in seat 55C. The cabin crew wrote down the name of this individual as “W***e” on a piece of paper and gave it to me. However, since the doors were already open and passengers were disembarking, no action was taken on board the aircraft. Although the police were called at Istanbul Airport, no official report was filed because there was no witness present at that moment. Since Singapore Airlines does not have an office in Istanbul, I was also unable to speak with airline representatives in person or through any other official channel. I have the purchase invoices for both devices and the name information written by the cabin crew regarding the individual in question. My total financial loss amounts to approximately $1,840. I am requesting that Singapore Airlines initiate a comprehensive and formal investigation into this incident, provide me with written updates regarding the process, and fully compensate me for the financial loss resulting from my stolen devices.
