Scribd Misleading 2025 PDF Downloaded As 2015 And Unwanted Charges
Tonight I accessed Scribd via Google because I wanted to download the 2025 edition PDF of the book “Intelligence Quotient” from 'Puza Yayınları'. I had already downloaded the 2015 and 2021 editions from another website, and I specifically needed the 2025 version. When I searched for the 2025 edition on Scribd, it appeared as if it was the 2025 version, so I clicked on it without hesitation and purchased it for $11.99. Since the money in my account seemed like a free balance, I completed the purchase, but when the file finished downloading, I saw that the book was actually the 2015 edition, not 2025 as shown. Right after noticing this, I closed my Scribd account. While checking things, I also realized that I had already fallen into the same trap in 2024. Although I did not download even a single PDF for 11 months, I saw that Scribd had continued to charge my credit card $11.99 per month and had taken 4 payments in total, 3 of which were completely unnecessary and unjustified. These collections continued until I cancelled my credit card. As a customer who feels misled about both the version of the book and the ongoing subscription charges, I request a full refund of the last payment for the document I downloaded, as well as the refund of the 3 extra monthly charges that were taken from my card without my active use or clear consent. I expect these unjust charges to be refunded as soon as possible and for Scribd to correct this misleading situation regarding the displayed book edition.
