I purchased a Samsung 990 EVO SSD on December 20, 2024, from the Vatan Bilgisayar Bursa Asmerkez branch for $174. When the product developed a defect, I sent it in for warranty service through Vatan Bilgisayar, and the process was initiated by them. At the end of the warranty process, I was informed that instead of replacing the product, they wanted to close the case by issuing only a refund based on the original invoice amount — $174.
However, based on my online research today, I see that the same product is currently being sold for at least $300, and the most recent selling price on Vatan Bilgisayar’s website is $345. If I am refunded only $174, it becomes practically impossible for me to repurchase the same product with equivalent features. I cannot understand why I am being forced to pay an additional $170 out of my own pocket for a product failure that is not my fault.
I do not accept that a global brand like Samsung would choose a path that clearly puts the consumer at a disadvantage in such a basic matter. I question whether it is truly that difficult to locate one unit in stock and send it, or at the very least provide an alternative product with equivalent specifications.
We use many Samsung products, but what I have heard and experienced during this process has seriously shaken my trust in the brand. My warranty record number is 178MS00002987. I do not need a refund; I urgently need a product with specifications at least equivalent to the one I was using so that I can continue using my computer. I kindly request that this process be reconsidered within this framework and that my grievance be resolved.
