My Samsung TV Stopped Working Just Months After the Warranty Expired

On February 27, 2024, I purchased a Samsung television from MediaMarkt for approximately $686. I have used the television carefully and under normal conditions since the date of purchase. Despite this, on May 28, 2026, only a short time after the warranty expired, the television suddenly stopped turning on altogether.
After discovering the issue, I contacted an authorized Samsung service center for assistance. I was informed that the warranty had expired approximately four months earlier and that the repair would cost between $254 and $380. In addition, I was told that if I chose not to proceed with the repair, I would still be charged approximately $25 simply for the fault diagnosis.
I do not believe it is reasonable for a television that is relatively new and was purchased for such a significant amount of money to develop a major power failure immediately after the warranty period ends. It is equally concerning that the proposed repair costs represent a substantial percentage of the original purchase price.
From a consumer perspective, a product of this quality and price should be expected to function reliably for many years. The timing of the failure and the high repair charges have left me feeling disappointed and unfairly burdened with additional costs.
Because I believe this issue may indicate a product defect or premature failure, I respectfully request that Samsung repair my television free of charge. I also ask that my complaint be reviewed promptly and that Samsung provide the necessary support to resolve this matter in the interest of customer satisfaction and goodwill.
