In July 2021, I purchased a Samsung 58TU7000 TV, but last night the screen suddenly went black while watching. The TV now won’t display any image, though sound still works. I contacted technical service, and after inspection, they informed me that the issue is a panel defect. Upon researching online, I found hundreds of complaints about the same issue with this model, indicating a clear pattern of a chronic panel defect. Most users reported this problem occurring shortly after the warranty expired, just like in my case.
This is a defective product, and under Turkish Consumer Protection Law (Article 11), I am entitled to compensation for such manufacturing faults, even after the warranty has expired. Furthermore, the Turkish Supreme Court ruled (Decision No. 2020/301) that customers can exercise their rights if a significant defect renders a product unusable post-warranty.
Samsung has reportedly offered free repairs for other customers with the same issue, yet I have been treated differently. I demand an immediate free panel replacement and resolution for my issue. Otherwise, I will escalate the matter to the Consumer Arbitration Committee and pursue legal action. I expect Samsung, as a trusted brand, to address this manufacturing defect promptly and fairly.
