Samsung Disappoints – Known TV Defect, No Fair Resolution Offered

56

I purchased a Samsung 58TU7000 model television in 2021. Shortly after the warranty period expired, the panel failed without any external damage or misuse. The authorized service center quoted me an outrageous repair cost of ₺17,000. It is completely unacceptable for a television to develop such a serious and costly fault in such a short time under normal use. What makes this situation even more frustrating is that the exact same issue has been widely reported by other users of the same model, and in many cases, Samsung has provided free panel replacements. Despite this, my request for the same support was flatly rejected by Samsung customer service, with no real consideration of the facts I presented. I contacted Samsung support with a detailed explanation, including evidence that this appears to be a common manufacturing defect, but their response was dismissive and scripted. Frankly, this attitude does not suit a brand of Samsung’s scale and reputation. As a result, I am now officially filing a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Board in Turkey. If this situation is not resolved fairly, I will absolutely not pay for the repair and will instead switch to a different brand. At that point, Samsung will have permanently lost me as a customer — and likely others around me as well. It is deeply disappointing to see such poor support and accountability from a global company over an issue this serious.

Despite repeatedly contacting Samsung customer service and trying to reach the local service center multiple times, they are not sharing the damage assessment report in order to prevent me from applying to the Consumer Arbitration Committee. Customer service claims that the panel malfunction is due to user error and therefore my request for a free repair has been rejected. I ask, how can there be user error on the panel of a television that is mounted on the wall, has not a single scratch, is used only with the remote, and has no buttons? I will file a lawsuit against Samsung customer service and your service for obstructing consumer rights and making false statements; I will not limit myself to the arbitration committee.

Of course, the process has concluded with Samsung being money-oriented and not caring about the customer, selling their defective products and demanding money without taking any responsibility or providing any explanation. In the end, they sold the product and got their money; the rest doesn’t concern them. They shamelessly sell defective goods, and hundreds of customers are victimized in this way. Even the technicians working at their service centers admitted in the beginning that the products were defective, but now they treat even those whose warranty has expired like this. Now they just get away with it. I will never even walk past a Samsung store again in my life. I do not forgive those who sell us expensive and defective products. There are many more things I haven’t written here; I send my regards to you all.
