Lack of Backlight On Samsung WindFree Remote Control


Dear Samsung Team, A few days ago, I purchased a Samsung WindFree air conditioner with high expectations, trusting in the brand's reputation for innovation and user-friendly design. While I am satisfied with the product’s performance and quiet operation, I must express my deep disappointment with a crucial design flaw in the remote control. The absence of backlight functionality on the remote makes it extremely difficult to use at night. In a dark room, I find myself having to locate my phone, turn on its flashlight, and then struggle to see the remote buttons just to adjust the settings. This is a frustrating and inconvenient experience—especially from a premium product that carries the Samsung name. In today’s market, even low-cost electronic devices include backlit remote controls as a standard feature. It is truly surprising and disappointing that such a fundamental convenience has been omitted in a high-end product. I believe this oversight significantly diminishes the user experience and does not reflect the quality standards Samsung is known for. I sincerely hope Samsung will take this issue into consideration for future product development, and if possible, provide a solution for current users who are affected by this design choice. Dear Samsung Officials, I personally shared my contact information on Samsung's website, and I was contacted. However, I was only thanked for responding, and no solution was offered. What I want is simply to have a light on my remote control. Please add a light to the remote controls you will produce from now on, and gift a remote with a light to customers like me who have been affected. Sincerely, Öznur Yılmaz
