Ryan Air Denied Boarding to EU Passenger Despite Transit Rights
On November 10, 2025, we experienced a major issue with a Ryan Air flight booked under the name O* D*** (PNR: HPPHRI)**. The passenger was scheduled to travel from Madrid to Dalaman via Manchester. However, despite our explanation to Ryan Air staff that the passenger was a transit traveler and, as an EU citizen, had the right to enter the UK under ETA regulations, the staff refused to allow boarding, claiming that a visa was required.
As a result, the passenger missed the connecting flight to Dalaman. Following the incident, we attempted to resolve the issue at Madrid Airport with Ryan Air staff, but they provided no assistance or solution. The passenger has been stranded at Madrid Airport since yesterday, and the situation remains unresolved.
To bring the passenger back, we were forced to purchase a new ticket from Madrid to Dalaman for 156 EUR.
We hereby request that Ryan Air reimburse both the original flight cost (Madrid–Manchester–Dalaman) and the 156 EUR spent on the replacement ticket. We also ask that this incident be reviewed, and preventive measures be taken to ensure that similar situations do not occur again.
