Pegasus Airlines Did Not Let Me Take My Cabin Bag on Board

Pegasus Airlines Did Not Let Me Take My Cabin Bag on Board

I arrived at Barcelona Airport, Terminal 2, Gate W46 to take the BCN-SAW flight with the reservation number AK79UD at 13:45 on 03.06.2025. After the passport and ticket check, my baggage was not allowed on the plane despite my right to a cabin baggage due to the lack of space in the cabin. They said that they could only take my baggage under the plane and that I had to pay for it. Otherwise, they said they would not take my baggage. I stated that I took my SAW-BCN flight on May 27, 2025 (7 days ago) with the same baggage and that I had previously taken the following flights with the same baggage; SAW-IKA flights with the reservation number 5BRNE5 on 30.04.2024, IKA-SAW flights with the reservation number PC516 on 06.05.2024, and PC1133 SAW-ORY flights on 02.05.2025. (You can look at the boarding images of the relevant flights at all airports and verify that it is the same suitcase. I have also flown to more than 10 countries with Turkish Airlines and AJet in the cabin with the same suitcase without any problems.) They said that if I did not pay €50, they would not take the suitcase and said that they would close the door. In short: They did not allow my suitcase on the plane even though I had cabin baggage rights on my ticket, and they also demanded an additional fee to take my luggage under the plane. They threatened to close the door and not let me on the plane if I did not pay, made me wait at the gate and let me on the plane last. I cannot describe the anxiety and tension I experienced. I request that the €50 that were unlawfully paid be paid to me immediately.

I received a response saying, "The necessary checks have been made based on your request and it has been determined that there is no error on our part. Since your hand luggage size does not match, a baggage fee has been collected within the scope of general rules. Our general rules, which are submitted to the approval of all our guests during purchase and applied under equal conditions, cannot be flexible." So now they’re refusing to take the same suitcase they’ve always allowed on board just because of its size. Opportunists!

I was found to be in the right in the petition I submitted to the Consumer Arbitration Committee. Justice may be delayed, but it never fails. During this process, it was once again confirmed that I should not use Pegasus.
