Pegasus Airlines Asked for Extra 50€ Fee For My Backpack That Fits The Required Dimensions
On 03.12.2023, I flew from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen with the 15.55 flight with PNR code N5ASLN. I had one cabin baggage whose dimensions did not exceed the required cabin baggage size, and I had a standard size backpack. I was told that I had to put my backpack in my cabin baggage or I would have to pay an extra baggage fee. Naturally, my backpack did not fit inside my cabin baggage since I had travel items in it. They accepted my normal size backpack as additional baggage and charged an additional baggage fee of 50€ (1572₺). As someone who has lived abroad before and travels to and from Turkey every two months - mostly by Pegasus - and has also traveled to different places both domestically and internationally, for the first time in my life, a backpack that does not exceed the required size limit is accepted as additional baggage. and 50€ was taken from me. I have returned to Turkey from different countries abroad many times before, and my backpack and cabin baggage did not cause any problems during boarding. When I flew from Istanbul to Amsterdam on 30.11.2023 at 08:40 in the morning, I was accepted on the plane with the same cabin baggage and the same backpack, without paying any extra fee. I request a refund of the 50€ additional baggage fee charged to me on the return flight.
