Pegasus Airlines Denies Priority Boarding to Family with 2-Year-Old
We waited in line for a full hour with our 2-year-old child during check-in with Pegasus Airlines, the company that names its planes after our children. My child cried in line for an hour. There were also many other family with small babies in line. When I approached the attendant and requested priority, they stated that this was not possible and that such a practice did not exist. However, as a family who has flown with our baby to many countries around the world, this was the first time we encountered such a situation. We have flown with both low-cost and premium airlines, and on all of them, we received priority for our baby. We suffered for a full hour in line with our child, disturbing other people. When the door opened for boarding, we went to the plane door to board second, after a disabled passenger. The stroller was folded, and we were kept waiting on our feet for almost 15 minutes with the child in my arms. If the plane wasn't ready, why did they start boarding? Did we need to be friends with someone on the flight crew to board the plane without waiting? Because while we were waiting, they immediately let a gentleman behind us board the plane. After landing in Istanbul, we waited for all passengers to disembark so as not to obstruct them. Our seats were 32F-E-D. Since we had a yo-yo cabin-type stroller, we were always the last to disembark. We were met with sour faces from the staff and comments implying that we were late. This was our first time choosing Pegasus for an international flight. However, it will be our last. I kindly request the company not to use our children's names as a tool for their poor service. Please use different names.
