I recently used the website PDF Smart (pdfsmart.com) because I needed to convert a PDF file with OCR. The site advertised a simple one-time trial for $1, so I paid the fee expecting the service to work smoothly. However, immediately after the payment was processed, the page displayed an error and the conversion failed.
I logged into my account to try again, thinking it was just a temporary issue. Unfortunately, every attempt stopped at around 40% progress and never moved beyond that. I waited for hours, but the file never completed. The tool simply takes the payment and provides no usable results.
This is extremely frustrating because I paid for a working OCR conversion service and received nothing in return. A one-time payment should deliver the promised functionality, but instead, I was left with wasted time and money.
I demand a full refund of my $1 payment and expect PDF Smart to fix their OCR tool so it actually works as advertised. Until they resolve these technical failures and stop misleading users, I cannot recommend this service to anyone.
