Payoneer's Predatory And Unethical Practices
Payoneer's tactics are predatory and unethical. They hide behind vague regulatory requirements but twist rules to prolong the process until maintenance fees or withdrawal thresholds eat the balance. Legally, it may be gray, but it feels like theft disguised as compliance. I experienced this after completing a small job on UpWork. Payoneer charged an annual fee without notice, reducing my balance to $149 USD. Now, they're making it impossible to withdraw this amount, demanding documents I don't have and can't obtain. They initially accepted my funds, no questions asked, but now insist on documents with highly private information once I want my money back. Their behavior feels like bad faith, using regulatory compliance as a cover to hold my money hostage as long as possible until they can charge their fees from my balance. After reading lots of similar stories, it's clear that this is a pattern they repeat regularly. Payoneer seems to target small accounts. They know most people won’t spend weeks or months fighting over a few hundred dollars. So those making the least amount of money and who need it the most are the ones who get screwed the hardest. They have virtually no customer service, relying on automated AI bots that ignore most of what you say. I've sent them nearly 40 emails in the past months, repeating the same issues, with their AI responding to only small parts of my messages. Stay away from Payoneer! If you’re already trapped, don’t give up: fight for your money. It’s not just about the cash; it’s about resisting this predatory practice that quietly profits from those who can least afford it.
