Obilet Ignores Refund Claim After Nissa Rent Subcontracts Substandard Car in Cyprus

I rented a Peugeot 208 through the Obilet mobile application from Nissa Rent for use between June 30, 2026, and July 7, 2026. I paid a total of 16,981 TRY using my credit card for this booking. I completed my reservation explicitly selecting and relying on the Peugeot 208 listing.

Upon arriving in Cyprus to pick up the vehicle at Ercan Airport, I was handed a beat-up Mazda 2 that bore no resemblance to the booked listing. When I stated that I had rented a Peugeot 208, the staff virtually mocked me, claiming there were no Peugeot vehicles in Cyprus, that the listing included the phrase "or similar," and that they could therefore provide whichever car they pleased.

Had I known a Peugeot 208 was unavailable, I would have chosen a different vehicle model or another rental company altogether. Furthermore, despite booking 3 weeks in advance, the only option offered to me on-site was to cancel the reservation if I wished. Knowing that a last-minute cancellation would force me to pay significantly higher market rates for a new rental elsewhere, this offer was neither realistic nor made in good faith. I consider this practice unethical and deceptive to consumers.

Following this issue, I contacted Obilet customer service, but they merely sent me a feedback survey and provided zero follow-up support. I demand that Obilet and Nissa Rent take full responsibility and resolve my grievance, issue a full refund of the 16,981 TRY paid, and extend a formal apology for this misleading business practice.
