The Return Of Funds That's Wasn't Agreed To
I recently discovered a charge of $29.00 taken from my NetSpend account ending in 3477 on 01/22/2026 by a company called My IQ New York. I never knowingly gave permission for this charge. The only interaction I have ever had with this company was when an IQ test advertisement popped up on my phone while I was playing a game back in November or December. I completed that test, and it stated that the results would be sent to my email, but I never received any results, and I was not informed that I would be charged $29.00. At the time, if there was any fee at all, it definitely did not appear to be this high, and I did not intend to authorize such a payment. I do not have an account with My IQ New York, and I did not receive any confirmation email, receipt, or notification about this payment. I only found out about the $29.00 charge when I checked my NetSpend balance because I have a bill scheduled to be deducted from this card, and this unexpected charge has now put me in a difficult position to make that payment. I feel that the way this IQ test and any related subscription were presented was not clear or direct, and it gave the impression of a simple, possibly one-time test rather than an ongoing or higher charge, which I find misleading. I request that the $29.00 taken from my NetSpend account on 01/22/2026 be fully refunded and that any subscription, registration, or recurring payment that may have been created in my name or linked to my card be canceled immediately, as I never knowingly subscribed to any ongoing service. I also ask for written confirmation that my card will not be charged again in the future.
