Missha Vitamin C Cleanser Caused Severe Skin Damage

In August 2025, I purchased a vitamin C facial cleansing gel from the Missha store at Samsun Piazza AVM and upon first use, I experienced severe skin irritation and an allergic reaction. My skin barrier was significantly damaged, and I had to use a barrier-repair cream and antihistamine medication for a week. I couldn’t bring myself to use the product again.

After this issue, I first contacted Missha customer service and was told the store would assist. When I went to the store, they took my first and last name and said they would get back to me—but I did not receive any follow-up. A month later when I returned to the store I was told the product might cause allergy, that therefore no return or exchange could be done, and that I needed to try the product a few more times. After I insisted, they said they would speak with headquarters—but still no solution was offered. The product costing over $20 USD (~800 TRY) remains with me.

I still have the product and its box, but I no longer have the receipt. I brought the product back to the store shortly after purchase—but no official register was created, only my name and surname were taken. For a major brand like Missha, which has many branches in Turkey, for the store to make only a handwritten note of my complaint, give me no document or follow-up, and provide no callback is extremely upsetting.

From Missha I request not a refund but a replacement of this product (I use their other products happily). I want the defective item changed and the money I paid not to go to waste.
