On March 8, International Women’s Day, I purchased a lipstick from the Maybelline New York brand at a Watsons store. The very first time I used the product, I felt noticeable dryness and discomfort on my lips. At first, I attributed this to weather conditions, so I didn’t think there was an issue with the product and continued using it.
After the second use, a painful, cold sore-like lesion developed on the edge of my lip. Following that, I started experiencing significant pain while speaking and eating, and my lips became sensitive to the point that it affected my daily life. When my symptoms did not improve, I had to visit a doctor after the second and third days. During the examination, I was told that I had developed an allergic reaction caused by the product, and I had to start treatment with medication and topical cream.
Honestly, I never expected to experience such a problem when purchasing this product. Although it appeared to be a nice and practical product in terms of appearance, the serious reaction it caused on my lips both surprised me and left me feeling distressed. Despite never having experienced such a severe issue with any cosmetic product before, this product negatively affected me both physically and psychologically.
Due to this health issue and the negative impact on my daily life, I request that the lipstick be examined by Maybelline and that I receive a full refund. I also expect that my experience will be taken seriously, that the issue will be thoroughly investigated, and that I will receive a formal response with proper information. I expect both Watsons and Maybelline New York to handle this matter with seriousness.
