I Bought Maybelline Lifter Gloss Lip Balm and It Applies Like Crayon, Not Balm

I recently purchased the Maybelline New York Lifter Gloss Lip Balm directly from L'Oréal’s official Trendyol store, so I want to make it clear this was an authentic product from a trusted source.

However, this product—marketed as a hydrating lip balm or oil balm—was incredibly disappointing. Instead of gliding smoothly and moisturizing as promised, it applied like a waxy crayon, leaving behind a patchy, chalky layer that wouldn't spread evenly across my lips. It felt dry, uncomfortable, and certainly nothing like what a balm should be.

I’m 30 years old and have been using Maybelline products since my teenage years. It’s a brand I’ve trusted for years—but this product completely let me down. I’m genuinely shocked that something positioned as a nourishing, glossy lip balm performs this poorly.

I expect Maybelline to review this product’s formula or quality control and offer a resolution or refund for customers who had the same experience. This is not the quality I’ve come to expect, and I hope Maybelline takes responsibility for ensuring future batches meet customer expectations.
