Marks & Spencer Swimsuit Damaged After Only Two Pool Uses
On June 30, 2026, I purchased a women’s swimsuit from the Hilltown Marks & Spencer store. I have only used the swimsuit twice in a swimming pool. I live in a house with a pool, and despite using the product under completely normal everyday swimming conditions, it developed irritation and signs of fabric breakdown in the seat area within a very short time.
Because the swimsuit deteriorated so quickly even though it had not been washed and had only been used a few times, we returned it to the store on July 14, 2026, as a defective product. Today, on July 22, 2026, I was informed that my claim had been rejected on the grounds of "customer error." Neither when I purchased the product nor when I submitted it for inspection was I informed about any special usage requirements or precautions that I needed to follow.
I do not consider this level of damage after such a short period of completely normal use to be customer-related. I request that the product be evaluated as defective, that a replacement be provided, or that my refund request be reviewed again and my complaint be resolved fairly.
