Maplin Failed to Deliver My Wireless Speaker Gift On Time With No Updates

I purchased a wireless speaker from Maplin hoping to have it available for a friend's birthday. Despite leaving myself extra time before the event, the parcel is yet to leave the warehouse, and the estimated delivery date has gone. Each time I contact customer service, I get the same vague response that they'll "look into it," but no actual developments have followed. It is now evident that no active steps are being taken to remedy the situation. The lack of urgency and openness is really upsetting, and I've been left scurrying for a new gift at the last minute. I am highly disappointed with Maplin's service and will not use them again for time-sensitive orders.
