I am writing to express my immense dissatisfaction with Lufthansa following a deeply stressful and disappointing travel experience during our recent journey. My elderly mother, uncle, and I were traveling from Tirana to Baku via Frankfurt, and the entire process was riddled with issues.
Flight Delay and Inadequate Ground Support:
Our flight from Tirana to Frankfurt (LH1425) was delayed by an hour and a half. During this time, we were forced to wait outdoors at the gate for over 30 minutes in cold weather, which led to my family catching colds. This lack of consideration, particularly for elderly passengers, is completely unacceptable.
Insufficient In-Flight Service:
After enduring the delay, the in-flight service was shockingly poor. We were only offered water during the flight. Considering the delay and added discomfort, this minimal service was entirely inadequate.
Missed Connection and Lack of Assistance in Frankfurt:
Due to the delay of LH1425, we missed our connecting flight to Baku (LH612). Upon arrival in Frankfurt, Lufthansa representatives rebooked us on the next flight (the following day at 6:40 PM) and provided meal vouchers. However, since most restaurants were closed, the vouchers were useless, leaving us hungry and without basic sustenance from 3 PM onward.
Prolonged Wait Without Accommodation:
We were forced to wait over 20 hours for the next flight, most of which was overnight. Despite our exhaustion from the journey, no accommodation or proper care was offered. This level of neglect is unacceptable, especially for elderly passengers who require additional care.
Overall Stress and Disruption:
The entire ordeal caused significant physical and emotional distress for my family and me. Instead of returning home as planned, we endured a frustrating, poorly managed travel experience.
This level of service is far below the standards expected of Lufthansa. While delays can happen, the complete lack of communication, support, and basic care for passengers—especially elderly travelers—is inexcusable.
I urge Lufthansa to take immediate action to address this incident and improve services for future passengers. Furthermore, I expect an official apology and adequate compensation for the stress, inconvenience, and additional expenses we incurred.
