I purchased an LG TV on October 6, 2022, and after just one year (October 2023), the screen developed long green vertical lines and stopped working. Since it was still under warranty, LG replaced the panel, confirming that the issue was not caused by user error.
Now, just a few months after the warranty expired, the exact same issue has happened again. Upon researching, I found that while LG offers a 2-year warranty, the expected lifespan of a TV is around 10 years. If the same failure occurs twice in 2.5 years, it clearly indicates a defective product.
We use our TV for just a few hours in the evening, and there are no external factors that could cause this damage. Yet, when I contacted LG for support, they refused to help. The repair cost is nearly the price of a new TV—if I could afford that, I’d simply buy a new one!
I did not pay such a high price just to have a TV fail after 1-2 years. This is clearly a faulty product, and I demand either a full repair or a replacement. If repairs don’t last, then LG needs to take responsibility for selling defective TVs. I trusted this brand and even recommended it to others, but this experience has completely changed my opinion. LG, stand by your customers and fix this ongoing issue.
