LG Fridge Warranty Disappointment
On October 5, 2020, I bought an LG refrigerator with a verbal and written 3-year guarantee and a 10-year motor warranty. However, when I contacted LG customer service for assistance on June 8, 2023, the fridge was not cooling properly, resulting in the rotting of all stored food products. Disappointed, I disposed of them. Customer care just inquired about the settings and suggested dialing for service. A technician arrived after phoning for assistance and waiting two days for an answer. They quickly diagnosed a motor (compressor motor) failure and charged a 500 tl servicing price. They also asked for an extra 3,500 tl for repairs. I highlighted the 10-year motor warranty and refused to pay for the defect-related repair. Despite the fact that the warranty documentation was clear, the service personnel, both on-site and at LG headquarters, insisted on the costs. This occurrence made me realize that my trust in the LG brand had dwindled. As a long-time LG customer who owns many LG appliances and television, I am profoundly dissatisfied with their lack of accountability and customer service. It is unacceptable to violate trust in the sales promise and disdain for the customer's worry.
