On June 13, 2013, I purchased an LG refrigerator. On February 6, 2025, when the refrigerator stopped cooling, I contacted LG’s authorized service center in Ankara (Güneş Elektronik). The technician who came said the compressor needed to be replaced, quoted a cost of ₺11,000, and asked for a ₺1000 deposit to order the part. (All details and service reports are documented and available.)
After paying the deposit, I waited a full week for the compressor to arrive. During that time, I had to throw away all the food in the fridge. When the part finally arrived, the service team installed it, and I paid the remaining ₺10,000. Shockingly, just one week later, the refrigerator stopped cooling again, and I had to dispose of all the food once more.
I called the service center again. They brought a small backup fridge and took my appliance back to their service center, where it stayed for 8–9 days. When they returned it, they said they had replaced the condenser and charged me an additional ₺1600, which I paid. Yet again, the refrigerator failed after only a week, forcing me to throw out everything once more.
Since then, the refrigerator has been shuttling back and forth between my home and the service center for about a month and a half. As of today, the fridge has been in the service center for four consecutive days, with no resolution in sight.
I have completely lost faith that LG can fix this refrigerator. If this problem is truly unrepairable, why was I charged ₺12,600 in total for parts and service? This is supposed to be a world-class brand. If LG cannot even repair one refrigerator properly, how are customers supposed to trust and invest in their products?
