Kuveyt Türk Shortchanged On My Account TWICE
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with Kuveyt Türk. For the second time, they have shorted me on the currency difference for my Kur Korumalı Hesap (KKH).
I know the exact amount that should have been deposited, based on the euro exchange rate on the day the account was opened and the day it was closed.
I have called customer service multiple times, but they just create a complaint ticket and then close it without ever getting back to me.
I am urging everyone who has a KKH with Kuveyt Türk to check their closing balances.
Dear Valued Customer, Your request has been recorded. You will be contacted through your provided contact information as soon as possible. For your opinions, suggestions, and requests, you can reach our Customer Satisfaction Center. Kuveyt Türk Participation Bank is always by your side for all your banking transactions, through internet and telephone banking, branches, and customer services.
Kuwait Türk announced today that it will not pay the missing exchange rate difference, in violation of the laws. Below, I am sharing with them the relevant part of the Central Bank's regulation: In the "End of Term Transactions" section, Article 6-4-2 paragraph of the "Implementation Instruction on the Support by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Against Exchange Rate Increases for Deposit and Participation Accounts" published by the Central Bank on September 25, 2023, it is clearly stated; If the amount calculated over the support that will arise due to the end-of-term exchange rate being higher than the start-of-term exchange rate is higher than the interest and profit share calculated with the one-week repo auction interest rate determined by the Central Bank, the difference between the support amount and the interest and profit share calculated with the one-week repo auction interest rate determined by the Central Bank is also paid to the beneficiary by the bank. The paid amount is reported to the Central Bank through the system in accordance with the notification form in Annex-2. The Central Bank transfers this amount to the relevant bank from the support account on the same day. As stated, your bank is obliged to additionally pay the difference to the customer. You may already have it, but I am still sending you the relevant regulation in the attachment.
The response to my application to the CBRT regarding the subject is attached. In this context, your bank is obliged to fully deposit the entire exchange rate difference to my account.
