Kumho Factory Tires on Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max Show Early Wear and Sidewall Tear

I purchased my Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max brand new in November 2024, and within less than a year and only 10,000 km, I’ve already experienced severe wear and a serious tear on one of the factory-installed Kumho tires. The vehicle has been used mainly in the city, with only one or two short highway trips, and no off-road driving whatsoever.
The damaged tire developed a finger-sized tear on the outer surface. Although it didn’t completely deflate, the service center claimed it was caused by an “external impact” and refused to cover it under warranty. However, it’s highly unlikely that an external impact could cause such a tear without completely rupturing the tire, which leads me to believe the issue may be related to premature wear or a manufacturing defect.
I reported the situation to both the authorized Chery service center and Chery customer support, but was simply redirected back to the service. Our communication took place only via WhatsApp, and no written explanation or warranty process was provided. It’s unacceptable for a tire to deteriorate this quickly, especially in a way that poses a safety risk.
Given the potential danger in future drives, I am requesting that the defective Kumho tires be replaced free of charge. I urge Chery and Kumho to consider that this issue is not caused by user error and to prioritize customer safety above all else.
