I Report Kiwi.com Hidden Fees: €74 Ticket Became €124, Refund Withheld

On July 21, 2025, I purchased a flight ticket from Milan to Barcelona using the Kiwi.com application. I paid approximately €74 for the ticket and an additional €50 for 10 kg of luggage. The next day, due to my limited English, I realized I had mistakenly purchased cabin baggage instead of checked baggage. When I reported this error, Kiwi.com informed me that my only option was to purchase an additional 15 kg of checked baggage for €109, directing me to a link within the app.

This outrageous additional charge, nearly double the original ticket price, forced me to request a cancellation of my ticket rather than pay more than the flight was worth. Kiwi.com has been unclear about whether they received payment from the airline and stated they would deduct a €30 fee regardless of the circumstances. This entire experience has been incredibly distressing and financially damaging. I discovered that on Vueling Airlines' own website (the operating carrier), the same flight, including a 35 kg checked bag, cost only €85. This stark contrast highlights Kiwi.com's excessive pricing and hidden charges. As a first-time user, I was unaware of Kiwi.com's predatory practices. I received no direct assistance beyond the automated AI chat; there is no way to connect with a human customer service representative. Now, I fully understand why their user rating is so low. I demand a full refund for my original purchase without any deductions, as this issue stems from Kiwi.com's deceptive practices and lack of transparent information.
