KFC Misleading Wing Promotion – Request Compensation and Advertising Correction

July 16 2:03 AM

I am writing regarding a misleading and disappointing experience I had today, 06/16/26, at the KFC in Bloomfield, NJ. The store is advertising a $10 Wednesday wing special that clearly states “10 hot and spicy wings” with 4 biscuits and 2 wedge potatoes. Based on this, I reasonably expected to receive 10 full wings, meaning a drum, flat, and tip. Instead, my order consisted of 10 hot and spicy wingettes, which is completely different from what “wings” normally means. This feels deceitful and like a rip off, especially for loyal customers. My total order came to a little over $20. When I noticed that I had received wingettes instead of full wings, I brought it to the cashier’s attention. The cashier looked at the person preparing the orders, but nothing was said to me, no explanation was given, and I was not offered anything else or any form of correction. I was simply left with the impression that because they have a “no refund” policy, they would not do anything about the issue. I find this policy and the way it is applied to be unfair to consumers, especially when the problem is due to misleading advertising. I spend a lot of money at KFC every week, and I do not appreciate feeling deceived by the wording of a promotion and then ignored when I raise a concern. I expect KFC to address this situation by correcting how this offer is described, training staff to handle such complaints properly, and offering appropriate compensation for this experience.
