Ingenico Software Update Disables iPP220 Pinpad for Over Three Months
Our business operates an Ingenico iDE280 cash register POS terminal connected to an Ingenico iPP220 Pinpad. Following a remote software update pushed by your network, our previously perfectly functional iPP220 Pinpad was completely disabled. Despite remaining securely physically connected to the main unit, the Pinpad is now entirely unresponsive. I have attached visual and video evidence documenting this failure.
This issue has persisted uninterrupted for approximately three months. We initially waited with patience, assuming a subsequent patch would resolve the glitch, but no corrective update has been deployed. Disabling functional hardware through an unverified software update—and failing to correct it for a quarter of a year—is unacceptable commercial practice. This disruption has severely bottlenecked our checkout operations, slowed down payment collections, and caused significant operational and financial hardship for our business.
We demand that Ingenico's advanced technical support team immediately review our system logs and deploy a fix to reactivate our iPP220 Pinpad, or supply an equivalent functional replacement. I expect a prompt response by phone or in writing detailing your resolution. If this matter is not resolved immediately, I will initiate formal legal proceedings through the Consumer Arbitration Board and file a formal grievance with the Ministry of Trade’s Board of Unfair Commercial Practices under Law No. 6502.
