Jeep Renegade Steering Sticking Problem - Possible Manufacturing Defect

I purchased my 2014 Jeep Renegade with 1.6 Multijet engine as a second-hand vehicle from a private seller in August 2025. When I bought the car, there was already a slight sticking problem in the steering, but over time this problem has increased significantly and has now turned into a very serious issue that affects the safe use of the vehicle. While trying to turn the vehicle, the steering wheel feels as if it is sticking, suddenly holds and then abruptly releases. This both makes manoeuvres difficult and makes me feel unsafe in traffic because I cannot predict how the steering will react. I took the vehicle to a private service, and there I was told that this is a chronic problem in the Fiat / Jeep group. In addition, in my research and in my own circle, I have seen that many Fiat 500L, Egea and Jeep Renegade users experience the same steering sticking problem, and there are many complaints on complaint platforms about this issue. I previously owned a 2006 Toyota, which was recalled by the service approximately 15 years after production due to a detected airbag defect, and the repair was carried out free of charge. I expect the same level of sensitivity and sense of responsibility from the Jeep / Fiat group for a problem that directly concerns driving safety. I request that the steering sticking problem be recognised as a chronic manufacturing defect and that my vehicle be inspected and repaired free of charge within this scope. I kindly request that the brand take this problem, which directly threatens driving safety, seriously, investigate it in detail and eliminate my grievance by ensuring that the necessary inspection and repair are carried out without reflecting any cost to me.

We forward the issue to Jeep, wait for the result, but we also check whether maintenance was performed at the service. The fact that the majority experience this problem does not mean it is chronic; this issue exists on many platforms worldwide in Renegades, and even the problem of door latch tears exists in 2025 models. If you say replace it, the cost is ₺70,000. If you say no, that's up to you. There's nothing to say if the Fiat group doesn't suspect and investigate the complaints on this platform.
