IKEA SUNDSÖ Table Developed Permanent White Stains After Minimal Use

I purchased an IKEA SUNDSÖ folding table and chairs on September 5, 2026. I used the table only two or three times for meals and drinking tea or coffee. Despite this limited use, white stains appeared on the table surface within a short period and became permanent. Although I cleaned the product according to the care instructions and used only non-chemical cleaning methods, the stains would not come off.

I contacted IKEA Customer Service by phone and also explained the situation in detail by email, requesting a replacement. During the phone call, I specifically stated that I had not used any chemical cleaning products and that the table had only been used normally for eating and drinking. Despite this, the inspection report I received stated that the white stains and paint deterioration on the table surface were caused by hard water, chemical cleaning products, or moisture/lack of ventilation. As a result, the issue was classified as customer-caused and my request was denied.

I do not accept that the product deteriorated this quickly despite being used only for its intended purpose and in accordance with the instructions. I expected much more from a product at this price in terms of both quality and customer satisfaction, and this experience has seriously affected my trust in the brand.

I request that the table and chairs be evaluated as defective products rather than being attributed to user error, and that they either be replaced free of charge or that I receive a full refund.
