On April 19, 2024, I purchased an HP Victus Gaming 16-R1058NT (9J259EA) laptop with serial number CND35031L5 from the Vatan Bilgisayar Mersin Yenişehir store. In HP’s own official technical documentation, it was clearly stated that this device’s display provides 100% sRGB color coverage. However, after receiving the product and performing my own measurements, I determined that the installed panel actually provides only 62.5% sRGB.
Because of this discrepancy, I contacted HP’s authorized service provider BDH Bilişim, and my device was accepted for service under repair code wo-033211103. At the end of the service process, I was informed that the display had been replaced with a BOE0B9E panel (part number n42532-001), which is claimed to support 100% sRGB. Although both the original and replacement panels are IPS matte LCD displays with a 144 Hz refresh rate, the new panel suffers from severe backlight bleeding, which is extremely distracting during normal use.
In addition, after the repair, the hinges began putting stress on the laptop’s chassis, leaving the device in worse condition than before it was sent to service. When I contacted BDH Bilişim again in January 2026, I was told that the backlight bleeding on the screen is “not considered a defect” and that nothing further could be done. The level of backlight bleeding I am experiencing is absolutely not normal, and I do not accept this explanation.
I request that HP and its authorized service provider BDH Bilişim replace the display once again, this time with a properly functioning, defect-free panel that truly provides 100% sRGB coverage and does not exhibit noticeable backlight bleeding, and that the hinge issue caused by the repair be fully resolved as well. I want to use a laptop whose display fully meets the technical specifications stated at the time of purchase and that has a solid and reliable chassis and hinge structure. If this issue is not permanently resolved within a reasonable timeframe, I will exercise my legal rights and apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee.
