HP Sold Me a Faulty Envy i9 RTX 4060 Laptop and Does Not Provide Spare Parts
Hello, the heatsink (copper metal plate that radiates heat) of my HP Envy laptop, which I bought 1.5 years ago, has lost its function due to a chronic manufacturing defect, with no physical damage. After doing some research, I found that this is a known issue in these devices and the heatsink needs to be replaced; however, neither HP service in Turkey nor abroad has the part available for a 1.5-year-old laptop. Although the part is listed on the HP Parts USA website, it cannot be ordered because HP discontinued this new-generation laptop—featuring an i9 13th generation processor and RTX 4060 graphics card—after the first batch, selling the remaining stock without even ensuring spare part availability, and essentially stepping away. When I called HP’s authorized service in Turkey, they said that since the device was purchased abroad, parts could not be supplied or repaired, even for a fee, and that service records couldn’t be created for international devices. For a so-called global brand, this is unacceptable. Many users in online communities have also confirmed that this is a chronic issue and that HP has sold these devices without any long-term support, leaving customers on their own. A few people have managed to find second-hand heatsinks, but those come with risks—some are defective, and even working ones may eventually suffer from the same manufacturing flaw. I will never buy another laptop, printer, or any product from HP again, especially from a company that fails to supply such a basic metal part.
