HP Laptop (Victus Gaming Laptop 16-s0050nt) Hall Sensor Problem
I purchased an HP Victus Gaming Laptop 16-s0050nt from hepsiburada.com in December 2023. After some time, the device started to have random black screen issues, where the laptop would suddenly go into sleep mode without any reason. At first, this happened rarely, but it has gradually worsened to the point that I can no longer use the computer at all. When I searched online, I saw that many users with the same HP Victus model are experiencing an identical problem and that this issue is widely reported as being caused by the Hall sensor, which appears to be a chronic defect in these models. Despite this, HP does not officially acknowledge the problem and, according to other users’ experiences and my own case, charges customers for repair. I contacted HP technical service regarding my device, and they offered to change the motherboard for a fee of 200 USD. I do not find it fair to be charged such an amount for what seems to be a common and chronic manufacturing issue affecting this laptop series. I request that my laptop be repaired free of charge and that HP acknowledge this black screen/sleep issue as a chronic problem for the affected Victus models, so that users are not held financially responsible for this defect.

No solution was offered. They recommend installing a standard new motherboard, which will most likely have the same sensor on it as well. They do not provide a clear answer on this. They say there is a 6‑month warranty, but the sensor already tends to fail after about a year. In short, if you want to use an HP computer, they are offering a brilliant solution that requires you to have a new motherboard installed every year.
